It's no joke: CNN has signed Comedy Central's Jon Stewart to produce an international edition of his satirical news program, "The Daily Show," reports the Associated Press. (CNN, like PEOPLE, is part of AOL Time Warner.) The program will air after midnight on weekends, when CNN's international network often mixes entertainment programming with news. CNN's overseas audience is generally younger than its domestic one, Rena Golden, general manager of CNN international, told the AP.

Stewart, 40, will tape a version of his show's headlines segment, and the rest of the half-hour will feature highlights from his Comedy Central program. Stewart's immediate concern is how his jokes will play globally. "It's strange enough to think we're going to be on in Bahrain, let alone what network we're going to be on," the star told the AP.
