Fan mail is nothing new to hip late-night host Jon Stewart, who had a talk show on MTV before The Jon Stewart Show debuted last September. "It's not too harsh," says Stewart, 32, of the 100-plus letters he receives weekly. "It's mostly friendly stuff inviting me to keg parties and the occasional person who has to talk to me because the toaster told him to." Stewart, who is single, interviews the most beautiful women in showbiz but, sadly, has never asked any of them out. "I don't think I'm allowed to hit on the guests," he says. "But maybe I can slip them a note: `If you like me, check this box.'"
